It's easy to mistake this for a welcoming, homey little place to hang with friends and to make new ones. Sadly, that was a misconception. The four busily-gossiping/giggling female counter staff didn't greet me or even acknowledge my presence. Meeting the challenge, I stood at the counter and just waited. (Even a loud sigh from a would-be customer behind me didn't disturb their reverie.) During this, the manager puttered about nearby without an acknowledging word or nod. At length my stare was almost reluctantly met as I got an "Are you ready?". I quietly thought "I'm ready for a lot of things, including leaving", but I bought coffee to go. (Another fun experience there: a quick visit to the rest-room revealed an empty tissue dispenser. Perhaps that's what they'd been discussing as I entered.) |

I had a great chicken salad sandwich and wonderful tea. The atmosphere is wonderful and welcoming, and everyone was just friendly and warm. |
