One of a kind Jun 3rd, 2005
I moved to Louisville 3 years ago and haven't been able to find anything that comes close. I have family in Rocky Mount and Martinsville, my husband and I HAVE to visit the New Yorker whenever we visit.

Missing the New Yorker May 31st, 2002
I grew up in Roanoke and whenever I visit the New Yorker is a must visit restaurant. I travel quite a bit and have lived in large metropolitan areas since leaving Roanoke, and I still cannot find anything like their subs anywhere else.

Best Subs anywhere!! Dec 6th, 2001
I grew up in Roanoke and now live in Atlanta, GA. Whenever I go home I make sure I make it to the New Yorker. The only sandwich I have ever ordered is the submarine with slaw and peppers. It is fantastic. And the prices are great. Can't go anywhere else and pay that for a whole sub (it's always enough to split or have the next day).

New York Flavor in Roanoke Dec 30th, 1999
First, the important thing: The New Yorker is a cash-only establishment. They have a very well-stocked Deli, where you can buy by the pound. But the real feature is the sandwiches, which are much bigger than one usually expects. The Pastrami on Rye is big enough to feed two, unless you're exceptionally hungry. The Onion Wheel is a very tasty combination of meats, and comes in as one of the smaller sandwiches that I've had there. The restaurant itself isn't anything special, and the service isn't the fastest, but the food is definitely worth i
