One of the best community cafes in the DC area. It's built up a reputation over the years and the change of ownership did not affect its function--perfect hang out to study, organize a reunion, enjoy a sip... Very good cakes. Love the apple pie. Laid back service, home-like. |

I was one of their first customers, accidently showing up for lunch on opening day. The food was much better then, but they obviously had no restaurant experience at the time and had to retool their menu to avoid spoilage. Now it consists of simple sandwiches and desserts.
The wait staff is very laid back and chatty, but most people (starving grad students) go there to hang out and have a coffee or two over the course of many hours because it has a good ambiance. It also has free wireless connectivity, so you will see a half dozen laptops open and surfing the web at most times |

A "college town"-type cafe where students and others gather to talk, work and have some great muffins. |

Free wireless internet, fresh, high grade coffee and espresso, and some awesome food. The upstairs room is perfect for study sessions, and there are always a plethora of interesting people to meet and talk to.
Behind the espresso bar, expect to wait a bit longer than your average Starbucks, but in return for your patience you'll recieve some top notch beverages! |

Staff enjoys keeping customers waiting while engaging in banter behind the counter, then feel it is their right to call customers rude when they engage in cell phone conversations while waiting for their orders.
Go to Starbucks, at least they treat you with respect and aren't hypocrites. |
