I ordered the Catfish breakfast which comes with tomatoes, eggs, fish, and cornbread. I was not asked how I wanted my eggs and didn't really notice I hadn't been asked until the food arrived. The eggs were over easy with I don't like. I decided to just eat the catfish but it had a strong seasoning on it which i didn't care for. This seasoning was also on the tomatoes. I explained to the first person that checked on us (about 25 minutes after the food arrived) that I didn't really like the meal. She left and got the manager (or owner not sure which). The manager seemed very upset that I didn't like the meal and told me everyone likes it and they can't keep catfish in the restaurant, she continued to make various comments about what a great dish it is, as if I was lying about not liking it. I guess she doesn't realize different people have different tastes. She eventually offered me approximatly $3.00 off the price of my meal and seemed very put out by this (this was less than 1/2 the cost of the meal). I am not one of those people that eats half the meal and complains either I had only had a tiny bite of the catfish and none of the egg. I would have been very happy with an offer to recook my eggs or prepare something else. She also did not ever refill our coffee despite our asking for a refill.
When it came time to pay the bill I offered her my debit card and she sighed and shook her head and told me she doesn't accept cards. This was not posted anywhere. We also had to endure listening to the manager or maybe owner gripe at the staff about everything- she was horrible. When this ordeal was finally over we left and went somewhere else to get breakfast and coffee. |
