Probably the most popular bar in Midtown Memphis, Young Avenue Deli has everything you could expect from a bar, all the beer and liquor you could want, not to mention a fairly extensive menu with all the fatty foods necessary to fill your stomach for that drunken drive home.
They also have the ability to draw in a few decent bands every month which is remarkable since Memphis is known for its lack of good shows. I've seen Bright Eyes, the Shins, Clem Snide, Tristeza, and many other bands here. Their taste in local music is exceptional as well. So it has a lot going for it.
If you're strapped for cash, I recommend Pabst Blue Ribbon at two bucks a pop, getting loaded doesn't get any cheaper. |
