The deli has 40 years in the business. I used to pick up sandwiches there in 1967 during the summer. Great ham & cheese on a Kaiser roll, specialties include the Village Hoagie and start at under $4.00. They usually have a lunch special which includes chips, drink and a sandwich.
I now live in Florida and miss those hoagies, so anytime I'm in Philadelphia I have at least 1 lunch from the Village. We walk down to the Jenkintown train station park and eat the sandwiches under the trees. |
