Definitely a concept restaurant: the lunch-box special. Oversized peanut-butter sandwiches are served on white bread (or wheat) with carrot sticks and potato chips. There's actually a good range of sandwiches, from the traditional PB&J or fluffer-nutter to avant-garde Thai chicken w/peanut sauce. There are even some non PB options on the menu. The restaurant, with its bright yellow walls, has a strong kindergarten feel.

Really need a good hit of elementary school nostalgia? Then go to this restaurant, where you'll be happily served a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, with the crusts cut off if you want, and a glass of chocolate milk, for $8. Each time I've gone, the pricing takes me aback. Everything's good; the peanut butter is freshly made, everything's fresh, but come on! $5-$6 for a PB&J is a little drastic. However, the Elvis is a fine fried peanut-butter and banana sandwich, and more or less worth it. The peanut butter BLT is a dud; the flavors just don't work. It's a very cheery place, and a fun place to unwind with a bunch of people, but it's just a little too precious, ya know? |
