A 1950's-style diner in ambiance, serving a mix of diner-style food, as well as deli favorites, and breakfasts. The restaurant is often crowded, and lines are common at both breakfast and lunch.

I really like the chicken salad at Johnny's and the fries are classic. Overall, it is a bit tight (I felt like a sardine) but the food and prompt service makes it worth it. |

If you wake up one morning and want to go out for breakfast in Newton, you have very few options if you're not in the mood for Dunkin Donuts. For a sit-down breakfast with all the fixins, there is no rival for Johnny's. This 50's style diner has a large menu full of anything you could want for breakfast. Of course, everyone in Newton knows this so the place is pretty cramped on the weekends. They also serve lunch and dinner, but breakfast is where Johnny's really shines. The service is a little slow and you are likely to be seated right next to some strangers (both due to the popularity of the place), but you can't do much better for a down home morning meal. |
