| Emilios Pizza and Sub Shop |

Convenience with reasonable price and food prepared quickly to order is what chain fast food places try to emulate about good neighborhood places. There are about 10 tables for dining in but many order for take-out or delivery.
The menu features standard varieties of pizza and fried seafood. There are also a miscellany of items like calzones and cold sandwiches but the hot subs ($4 to $7) give depth to the menu.
Located only a little off the beaten path, informal dining combines with filling food to make this place worth popping over to.

I was looking for a place open after 11:30pm and didn't want to go to some fancy place or cheap Chinese when I ran across Emilios. Being in Boston for a few days makes me want to eat chowder or seafood for every meal so I got the seafood platter (fried shrimp, clams, fish, scallops, and potatoes with Greek salad - $12.50) But while I sat at a table waiting for my take-out to be ready the hot sub part of the menu began to intrigue me. Ranging from veal parmesan to steak-egg-bacon-cheese with prices from $4 to $7. If I make it back I think I will have to try one of them. The other patrons (a few others trickling throught at near midnight on a Monday night) split evenly in buying pizza or subs. Oh, the best parts of the platter I had were the shrimp. Taste reminded me of when I lived on the gulf and would buy them from the boats that had just come in. |
