For those who have been waiting, endlessly, for someone to make it happen: There's finally a coffee shop downtown. Located next to Red Star, they open up promptly at 8am with bagels, soothing mousic, and fine coffee drinks. Try their lunch sandwiches, and, if you live or work downtown, do your best to become a regular.

"Coffee Star Cafe' & Bakehouse, located in downtown Baton Rouge at 226 Laurel Street, is now open and serving Breakfast in addition to our specialty coffee drinks, fresh salads, hot and cold sandwiches, baked potatoes, wraps, homemade soups, fresh baked goods and delightful desserts. Take a break from your hectic work schedule and enjoy our freshly prepared foods and drinks in a warm and relaxing atmoshpere or simply call in your "to-go" order and we'll have it waiting for you. Treat yourself to one of our specialty hot or cold drinks like our old-fashioned shakes and malts, rootbeer floats or our very own over-the-top cold coffee drink - The Milky Way Mocha."
Coffee Star also caters. For breakfast meetings, they have homemade muffins and pastries served with our specialty coffee drinks. As well, any of their lunch items are available for working lunches, whether catered or for pick-up.

It's all good! They used to be in a different location, in Central. I went there practically every other day! |
