I visited the Desert Rose in February '04 and found it most memorable. The ambiance was superb, I particularly enjoyed the "Slim Dunlap" wall and the home-style cookin'! I will definately stop in the next time I'm down that way and will plan my itinerary around a meal there. |

Aug 18th, 2004 |
My wife and I dined at the Desert Rose for the second time Friday August 13, 2004.
Our first experience, during the crane migration to Wilcox had been very enjoyable.
But this time was quite different,a young teenage girl who was acting as hostess apparently was not enjoying her job, no smile, while setting two tables up for a larger party, knocked chairs over and didn't seem to care about disturbing any of the other diners.
On our first visit, I believe it was Lari, one of the owners, who was acting as hostess, waitress and was very personable and made sure you were enjoying your dinning experience.
This time though two of the young waitresses spent more time chatting with a table of young men than waiting on the customers.
Prime rib, Friday night special , was very over cooked as was the fish and chips.
Maybe it was just a bad night, but as a small business owner I like to know how my employees are doing, and I hope the owners of the Desert Rose feel the same way. |
